End of Life Vehicles
With experience in the salvage and recovery business since 1963, Gowing Auto Salvage are now at the forefront of meeting the new legislative requirements by offering a brand new environmentally friendly vehicle disposal service. We take in all makes and models of unwanted vehicles and de-pollute them in our brand new, purpose built, de-pollution centre prior to disposal.
The End of Life Vehicle Act (ELV) came into force in 2003 with the effect that any vehicle reaching the end of its road-going life, must, by law, be taken to a licensed ELV site to be de-polluted and scrapped.
In August of 2004 Gowing Auto Salvage embarked on this new environmentally friendly scheme. We had to satisfy a mass of strict regulations to meet the new legislation, but after a great deal of hard work we were granted our ELV Licence by the Environment Agency in December 2004. We are proud of the fact that we are among only a very few companies who have been accepted nationwide.
Our experience of the business and our drive to be among the first to achieve our ELV License has made us the leading ELV and Salvage centre in East Anglia.
